New Delhi begins with the drive past Safdarjang's
Tomb (1753 AD) on the way to Qutab Minar (1193 AD) this striking medieval
tower of victory of Persian World is 73 m high. Within the Qutab complex,
amidst the ruins of Quwat-ul-Islam mosque, stands the Iron pillar which
has stood the vagaries of weather and has not rusted over 1500 years.
Then drive through New Delhi includes the Embassy area (Diplomatic enclave),
Government buildings, India Gate, Sikh Temple (Bangla Sahib Gurudwara),
Birla Temple and Connaught Place, New Delhi's main shopping area. Visit
Humayun's Tomb - considered to be the fore runner of Taj Mahal.
Day 02: Delhi
After a leisurely breakfast at hotel, the tour guide escorts you to Jama
Mosque built in 1650 AD, followed by a drive past the breathtaking Red
Fort (1639-1648), and built by Shah Jahan, creator of the Taj Mahal. Then
we proceed on to Raj Ghat, which is the memorial of Mahatma Gandh.
In the afternoon, your tour of New Delhi begins

Day 03 : Delhi - Srinagar
In time you will be transferred to airport to board flight to Srinagar.
On arrival you will be transferred to Deluxe Houseboats. Late afternoon
Shikara ride on Dal Lake visiting floating and Vegetable gardens etc.
Also witness walnut woodcarving and papier machie making demonstration.
Dinner overnight in Deluxe Houseboats
Srinagar is located in the heart of the Kashmir
valley at an altitude of 1,730 m above sea level, spread on both sides
of the river Jhelum. The Dal and Nagin lakes enhance its picturesque setting,
while the changing play of the seasons and the salubrious climate ensures
that the city is equally attractive to visitors around the year.
Day 04 : Srinagar
Morning sightseeing of Mughal Gardens visiting Nishat Bagh (Abode of pleasure)
built by Asif Khan brother in law of Jehangir in 1632 AD. And Shalimar
Bagh (Abode of love) built by Jehangir for his wife Empress Noor Jehan.
All the gardens are situated on the bank of Dal Lake with the Zabarwan
Mountains in the background. The distance from Srinagar to the said gardens
is about 12 and 15 kms respectively. Enroute visit carpet-weaving factory.
Dinner and overnight will be in Deluxe Houseboats.
Day 05: Srinagar - Sonamarg
In morning after breakfast you will have full day excursion to Sonamarg
(Golden Meadow) with pack lunch from Houseboat. The distance of about
83 kms will be covered about 2-½ hrs. Sonamarg lies in Sindh Valley
streamed with flowers and surrounded by mountains. Sonamarg is also the
base for some interesting treks to the high altitude of Himalayan Lakes.
Enjoy horse riding upto Thajwas glacier and sledge riding on snow. Late
afternoon you will be driven back to Srinagar Dinner and overnight will
be in Deluxe Houseboats.
Day 06 : Srinagar - Pahalgam
After breakfast you will be driven to Pahalgam (Valley of Shepherds).
The distance of about 96 kms will be covered in about 3 hrs. En-route
visiting Saffron fields, Awantipura ruins (1100 years old temple of Lord
Vishnu built by King Awantiwareman), see the beautiful countryside on
the way and lot of rice fields. Drive through the pine forest. Arrive
Pahalgam, and you will be transfer to your pre-booked deluxe / luxury
hotel. After lunch have bridle walks and feed your cameras with the picture
of magnificent view of mountains. Dinner and overnight will be in hotel
at Pahalgam.
Day 07 : In Pahalgam
Free for individual activities. One can visit Chandanwari or Aru on ponies.
Lunch, Dinner and overnight will be in hotel.
Day 08 : Pahalgam - Srinagar - Gulmarg
After breakfast you will be driven to Gulmarg (Meadow of Flowers) 2730
Mts. above sea level. The distance of 160 kms will be covered in about
4-½ hrs. Gulmarg has one of the best Ski slopes in the world and
highest golf course of the world with 18 holes. One can also have the
view of Nanga Parbhat if weather permits. The view enroute from Tangmarg
to Gulmarg is fascinating. One can also have a short trek upto Khilangmarg,
which can be covered in about 3 hrs. Also enjoy sledge riding on snow.
Chair Lifts for mountain ride are also available. Lunch, Dinner and overnight
will be in Hotel.
British discovered the hill resort of Gulmarg in
1927 during their colonial rule in India. Originally called 'Gaurimarg'
by shepherds, its present name was given in the 16th century by Sultan
Yusuf Shah, who was inspired by the sight of its grassy slopes emblazoned
with wild flowers. Gulmarg was a favourite haunt of Emperor Jehangir who
once collected 21 different varieties of flowers from here. Today Gulmarg
is not merely a mountain resort of exceptional beauty- it also has the
highest green golf course in the world, and is the country's premier ski
resort in the winter.
Day 09: Gulmarg - Srinagar
After breakfast morning free at leisure, afternoon drive back to Srinagar.
Distance of 60 kms will be covered in about 2 hrs. On arrival in Srinagar,
transfer to Deluxe Houseboats/Hotel for dinner and overnight stay
Day 10 : Srinagar - Delhi
After breakfast you will be free to enjoy the morning in a relaxed mood.
In the afternoon you will be transferred to airport to board flight to
Delhi. On arrival, you will be transferred to hotel. Rest of the will
be leisure. Overnight will be at hotel.
Day 11 : Delhi - Back Home
After break fast you will be free at leisure. In time you will be transferred
to airport to board flight for onward destination.
